I do not know what I would’ve done if I hadn’t found Aliza. My husband and I decided to move back to the tri-state area last Spring and called Aliza at the suggestion of a friend. Initially, we were looking for a Montclair rental, and Aliza was immediately helpful. Our situation changed a week later, and we decided to purchase a home. I first spoke to Aliza in mid-April and by mid-May, we put in an offer on a house. By mid-July, we were happy Montclair residents. Aliza sprung into immediate action. She sent us listings, responded to our questions via email, phone and text and spent hours taking us around town and showing us every possible house available in our price range. This is the fourth house we’ve bought so we have a pretty good idea of what we like, and know things do not always appear in person as they do on-line. Aliza had knowledge of almost every single house we walked into, and by the end of our first day together, could confidently say, “I don’t think this will be for you for ____ reason” and she was right. Because we were looking from DC, Aliza did a ton of advance work for us, and would call every Thursday (the day of the broker’s open houses) to let us know whether we should come and see a house we were interested in. We were on the fence about whether we should see the house we ultimately bought and Aliza called us from inside the house the first day it was open to realtors to tell us to get on a train. Once again, she was right. We walked in the front door and knew this house had to be ours. Aliza was incredibly knowledgable about the Montclair market, extremely helpful when it came time to determine what our offer should be and held our hands through a very quick and nerve wracking bid situation. Her counsel was wise and when we thought of going (even more) over asking, she cautioned us not to for a number of reasons. I think this is proof positive of her honesty, integrity and desire to best serve her client’s interests. She took extra care in how she submitted our offer and I think the little details she provided truly help in a competitive market like Montclair’s. When we encountered inspection obstacles, Aliza’s counsel was always rational and logical and she was an excellent advocate for us. We had many reasons to be upset by the response of our sellers and she really helped us wade through which items we should push back on and which we should let go. And, when she felt we were not being dealt with fairly, she championed our cause in a professional, courteous and effective manner. If you are looking for a realtor who is knowledgable, grounded, effective and wise, you should look no further than Aliza. Take her great advice, trust her eye and allow her to help you navigate what can be a turbulent process. Before you know it, you too will be in the perfect house for you.— Andy and Rebecca
